Scary night!

Well I had the scariest night of my life last night! I was eating some cashews and my kids wanted some, so I let them each have a couple. My daughter, who will be two next week, ate only one and then started coughing and wheezing! At the time I did not even think "She just ate a cashew...she's having a reaction!" I just thought she was coughing because she has had a cold for the past few days. So I watched her for a few more minutes and she was breathing okay so I figured she was alright. Then she starts crying and touching her stomach so I lifted up her shirt. She was COVERED in hives! I turned the overhead light on to see better and noticed that her face and ears were swollen and she was bright red! So my mom came over to watch my other two kids so I could take her to the ER. She was given benedryl and prednisone and looked better after about six hours. It was definitely the scariest time I've had since I've been a mom!! So now I'm really paranoid and have decided to never let her have any kind of nut just in case she's allergic to others besides cashews!!
